Valerie Okoruwa currently occupies a dual position of Company Secretary at AIO Properties Limited and Head, Legal Services/ Human Resources at Dele Olaiya & Associates. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Benin and was called to the Nigerian Bar Association as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She joined Dele Olaiya & Associates in 2017.
She started her professional career at the Law Firm of Perchstone & Graeys where she gained extensive legal knowledge and was exposed to a vast area of Law and garnered legal skills tailored at meeting the various demands of modern legal practice. She joined the Law Firm of Rotimi Aladesanmi & Associates, where she underwent the one year compulsory National Youth Service, and participated in an active litigation practice. After her National Youth Service, she joined the Law Firm of IPI WATCH SERVICES and subsequently the Law Firm of Dominion Chambers and she was exposed to transnational matters relating to diverse areas of Law which include: Intellectual Property, Company Secretarial responsibilities, Legal Risk Management, Corporate Commercial Law, Information Technology, Software licensing and protection, Contract Administration, Corporate Governance and Perfection of titles to Land/ Obtaining Governor’s Consent. She has sat on various board meetings as Company Secretary, advised clients in corporate restructuring, regulatory and industrial compliance, Labour relations, legal advisory services, agreement draft and review, and corporate commercial services.
Valerie is an avid reader, a skilled writer and researcher and demonstrates excellent skills in Due Diligence, Legal Risk Management and advice on corporate/ property matters. She is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Nigeria and a Chartered Arbitrator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (U.K)
